Wildwood is a master planned development located on the west side of Interstate 65 at the Highway 149 (Lakeshore Drive) intersection, just minutes from downtown Birmingham. The communities of Vestavia, Mountain Brook and Homewood, the market’s most affluent areas, are all within five miles as well. The project is located on both the north and south sides of Lakeshore Drive and encompasses roughly 400 acres. The overall development is made up of Wildwood Centre, Wildwood North, and the ancillary development in and around these Centers consisting of major office campuses occupying in excess of 2 million square feet, approximately 1,000 hotel rooms, a movie theater, numerous restaurants and freestanding buildings and other national retail tenants, including a Lowe’s Home Improvement Center, Babies R Us, Wal-Mart Supercenter and Sam’s Club. The development of this project was started in the late 1991 and is ever changing and ongoing still today. Adjoining the Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club is the 325,000sf retail power center developed in the first phase. Anchor Tenants now include Hobby Lobby, Academy Sports and Outdoors, SuperPetz, and K&G Menswear. The Center also includes approximately100,000 sf of shop space.
